Each of these carbon nanopipes is approximately one thousandth the diameter of a human hair.
They are made at RGB Research's lab in Warple Mews using chemical vapour deposition techniques.
The hollow tubes are capable of transporting fluid. In collaboration with Imperial College London,
we are researching how liquids behave when highly confined inside such structures.
Our long term aim is to develop hybrid nanofluidic/seminconductor devices that will be useful for
medical diagnosis.
