Windows CD-ROM installation
If you purchase Mind Reading as a multiple CD-ROM set, you will not be able to run the software from the CD-ROMs as with a CD-ROM. Instead the software and all application data must be copied in its entirety onto your hard disk requiring approx. 2.5 GB of space.
-
Insert the Mind Reading disk into your CD-ROM drive and wait until it mounts properly.
-
On your desktop, double-click My Computer. You should see the Mind Reading disk in the newly opened window.
-
Double-click on the Mind Reading disk to display its contents.
-
Double click on Setup.exe launch the installer. (NOTE: if you see two setup files but not the .exe suffix then you have extensions hidden on your computer. If you are looking at the files in list view and they are alphabetical then it will be the FIRST "Setup" that you can see on the Mind Reading disk.
-
First you will see a Welcome: click Next to continue
-
Select Destination Folder: choose where you want to install Mind Reading on your hard disk. The default will be the Program Files folder on your C:drive, but you may wish to install elsewhere, in which case choose Browse to select a different drive and/or folder. Keep an eye on the Disk Space Remaining figure. If it is negative you do not have enough space to install the options you have selected. You may need to select a different drive with more space or clear some space on your hard disk. The Mind Reading DVD needs a minimum of 350MB of free space on your drive.
-
Select Components: the only option available will be Mind Reading Full Install requiring 2.5GB disk space.
-
Ready to Install: click Next to start the installation process. The necessary files will be copied to your hard disk.
After files are copied from CD-ROM 1, you will be prompted to insert each of the remaining CD-ROMs in turn, followed by CD-ROM 1 again.
NOTE: This process could take 10-20 minutes.
-
QuickTime: if you chose to install QuickTime, the Apple QuickTime installer will now be launched and will prompt you step-by-step through the install procedure.

windows CD-ROM installation trouble-shooting
If it looks like you have installed the first CD-ROM but it is not asking you for CD-ROM 2 or gives you a message saying "Please make sure the DVD is in the drive" then it is likely you have double clicked the wrong Setup file. Make sure you can see two files called Setup on the CD-ROM and double click the setup.exe file. If you cannot see ".exe" then you should unhide file extensions on your PC. Alternatively, in the window displaying the CD's contents, go to View and select List. Ensure you are looking at the items alphabetically, and the Setup.exe will be the first of the two Setup files.
