Mac DVD-ROM installation (OS 9 or OS X)
-
Insert the Mind Reading disk into your DVD-ROM drive and wait until it mounts properly.
-
The Mind Reading disk will appear on your desktop. Double-click on the disk to display its contents. Copy the folder called Mind Reading found on the first (TOP) level of the Mind Reading DVD-ROM, onto your hard drive. The Mind Reading DVD needs a minimum of 350MB of free space on your hard drive.
-
Unless you already have QuickTime 5 or greater installed on your computer, install QuickTime. Run the QuickTime installer which will prompt you step-by-step through the install procedure. The installer is supplied on the Mind Reading disk (see the folder QuickTime Installer MAC in the folder QT).
-
If you have plenty of spare hard disk space (at least 2.5GB), you may wish to copy the contents of the entire DVD-ROM to your hard disk. This will enhance performance. In this case, copy the other folders from the disk to the same level (TOP LEVEL) of your hard drive - where you should have copied the Mind Reading folder already.
-
To run Mind Reading, make sure the DVD-ROM is in the drive, then double-click on the file Mind Reading located within the Mind Reading folder on your hard drive (the icon shows a white arrow on an orange background).
-
The very first time you run Mind Reading you will be asked to enter your name and the serial number, provided with the disk. You will find the number on your registration card and on the cover of the User Guide.
You also choose from the International or British version of Mind Reading at this stage (this affects spelling and regional accents). Please remember to complete and return your registration card.
-
To run Mind Reading Manager make sure you are not running the main Mind Reading application, (choose Menu - Quit to exit), double click on MR_Manager, within the copied Mind Reading folder on your hard drive.
-
Please read the printed User Guide carefully. To view the screen-based Help, double click the file help.htm in the folder Help in the Mind Reading folder on your hard drive. You will need a browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator to view the Help.
