It is known that a range of different groups of people with widely differing special needs may also have problems in recognizing emotions.
These groups include people:
- with learning difficulties
- with emotional difficulties
- with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- with dyspraxia
- with brain damage, especially causing prosopagnosia
- with schizophrenia
- with anger control difficulties or a tendency to violent behaviour
- who have suffered abuse and neglect
- with personality disorders
