It is known that a range of different groups of people with widely differing special needs may also have problems in recognizing emotions. These groups include people:
  • with learning difficulties
  • with emotional difficulties
  • with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • with dyspraxia
  • with brain damage, especially causing prosopagnosia
  • with schizophrenia
  • with anger control difficulties or a tendency to violent behaviour
  • who have suffered abuse and neglect
  • with personality disorders
